The first in a new series titled The Cousin’s War, based on the time in history of the Plantagenets and the Wars of the Roses. Philippa Gregory has again produced an historically correct telling of the story this time from the women’s view point. I liked the way gaps in history were filled with believable embellishments, including the magic (believed to have been common practice in those times), and the way in which she dealt with the Princes in the Tower, the true fate not being known today.

I really enjoy Philippa Gregory's books on Ann Bolyn. This one was interesting but at times dragged. While Ms. Gregory characterized Elizabeth and her children there was just too many details. At times, I will admit that I could not put the book down but other times had to skim a few pages. All in all this was an enjoyable read. ...more

It might be realistic and accurate to history, but naming every other person Edward or Elizabeth made it difficult for me to fully enjoy this book.
