Ronnie is an angry young woman who is forced to stay with her dad over the summer, in North Carolina. Her mom and dad split up three years ago and Ronnie has never forgiven him. When she first arrives in town she meets up with some of the "bad kids" and gets into trouble. But over the course of the summer she gets to know Will, and also starts to repair her relationship with her dad.
