In line with other Jodi Picoult books in which the moral/ethical questions make one think and see the other side. A very difficult topic that is relevant and difficult.

This is my second Jodi Picoult book and if you have read anything of hers (or looking to start!) her books are incredibly thought provoking. I devoured this book in a few days and the story of Peter, Josie, Alex and all the other characters was something I still can't stop thinking about. Its a story that shows the truth and realness of today's society with human mistakes, regret, guilt, love, hope and acceptance. This look at a school shooting was disturbing and yet predictable. It was reminiscent of Midwives by Chris Bohjalianand yet it forged its own path through the hallowed ground of adolescence. The characters were mostly stereotypes except for Josie and she did not seem "real" to me. This was a good book and towards the end, a page-turner but it does not cover new ground or lead to new understandings of the human psyche.
