Although I enjoyed this book and others that have read by Jodi Picoult, one of my biggest complaints are how long her chapters almost always are. I am a person, who usually likes to finish the chapter in one sitting, but that is rarely possible with the length of her chapters. I'd probably get through her books quicker, if she had shorter chapters and I could say just one more chapter...

I was hesitant to read this book because I had only been out of high school a few years when Columbine happened. I live in Aurora, CO so Columbine was not a school that was in my district but I think it really hit the whole community pretty hard. Hell the whole nation. What made me read it was knowing that they told the story in part of the parents of the killer's perspective. I remember when Columbine happened, I wondered what the parents were going through? I like how this author weaves a story and how she fits in so many characters and POV. I was a bit reluctant to read a story about a high school shooting, but the story is so well told that I found I was drawn in anyway.
