I LOVED this book. I loved the characters, I loved the plot. The only thing I didn't love about it is that it left me wanting more. I wanted more time and follow up. This is honestly a book that could do very well with a sequel. At the end I didn't feel disappointed in any way, but I felt a strong desire to know more about the lives of Skeeter, Minny, Aibileen and Yule May after the story ended.

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! Getting a glimpse of the 1960's in Jackson, Mississippi and learning about the lives of some wonderful characters. I found it very engaging! A book club could have a great discussion with this one!

I heard about it in history class, of course, but seeing it through the eyes of the individual is quite another thing. I agree with another revi ...more

It didn't end the way I would have liked it to.
