This was a re-read of a book I've read and loved years ago. It's still such a good story. It's got all kinds of adventure and real characters to care about (even if they are rabbits). I can definitely see myself revisiting this one again in the future.

This is probably the book that has been on my TBR shelf the longest - probably a good 30 years or more. Maybe that's because I generally don't like anthropomorphism, but I'm glad to say this is a delightful exception.

When I told my daughter I was going to read this novel she was surprised that I never had. Always it has been in the back of my mind to do so. What surprised me was that the cover depicted a resident of a rabbit warren - perhaps even one of the characters in this very book. It's a story with so many messages that it merits being read whenever one needs a pick-me-up.
