I must have been incredibly naive back in high school when I read this because it scared the pants off me. But what made me not forget it was that she died in the end anyway. That made me incredibly sad. I knew it was poorly written but I figured that was realistic since it was supposedly written by a teen.

I hate Twilight as literature for teens, so I'm always on the lookout for good YA lit to supplant crappy books from impressionable minds. One book that kept popping up was Go Ask Alice, which many reviewers said scared them away from any type of drug. As a straight-edge teen, I didn't even need the warning, so I never read it. I started this book on 09/05/2009. I finished this book on 09/06/2009.

This was a very graphic book. I'm not sure it's really a young adult book. Or it shouldn't be I guess is what I mean. It has a lot of language and details that I would have been shocked at if I read it when I was younger. It was also depressing in a way because I've never dealt personally with anyone who's been through any of this or anything like that. I would recommend it to anyone who was thinking of experimenting with drug
