This was an interesting book and Jane was a curious character. I have about 5000 different feelings about this work of literature and this review will be a long one.
First off let's discuss who we are dealing with in this classic.

Not what I expected
This was an enjoyable read. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Reading this removed some of my prejudices against the genre. Just enough to perhaps read more of the type. Jane Eyre has a lot more substance and depth than I expected. However, I have one criticism there is way too much French for a non speaker. These days when a foreign language is used authors translate at least enough for the reader to get the gist. Yes, it's a small thing but a distraction nonetheless. ...more
