At first I wasn't sure about this book, I love Island stories, but I am not a big fan of stories about infidelity. But Hilderbrand brought me around...this story could not have been told any other way. it is a story about love, family, friendship, temptation and human frailty. The first half of the book frustrated me. I found all the multiple POVs to be very confusing. It was hard for me to keep things straight in my head —who was married to whom, their children’s names, connections between the couples, etc. I finally had to make myself a Cheat Sheet and map out the characters. I have mixed feelings about this book. I was waiting and waiting for this puzzle to unfurl but I was left quite disappointed. I feel like it was way too long for nothing to really happen. All kinds of secrets revealed, yes, but meaningless.. pretty much.
It is a good testament to not having too many friends of the couple variety haha.
