Wow, I thought this book was AMAZING! I really enjoyed reading it. It was such a powerful and heartbreaking book all at the same time. I thought the plot and characters were very well written. Celie was such a great main character. I like how she is writing to God at first and then she started writing to her sister Nettie. I love how the book ends.

Celie was really allowed to mature and grow into her own person. That was really well developed and well written. I didn't feel that Nettie was as well developed but you still feel Celie's love for her sister and get involved with Nettie's journey too.

I want to see the movie now because I can't imagine what part Oprah plays.

Great read. Written as a series of letters between sisters and from one of the sisters to God. Sad in parts, but happy at its core because it shows the beauty of personal relationships and how people have the capacity for change.
