I hate to say this, but this book almost only got 2 stars from me. Nothing to do with the story concept. That I still love, but I hate how the author butchered it. To start, the first 40 plus pages in nothing but an introduction and the authors first chapter, which has to cover how he got into the story, how he liked sports, how he became an author, and movie writer..blah blah blah. A sick boy is read a fairytale by his grandfather. The fairytale is about Buttercup and Westley, a beautiful woman and a farm boy who fall in love then struggle to be together. I thought this was a great book. I really enjoyed reading it. The chapters were set up differently, but I did not mind it. Since this is an abridged version we got to hear how William Goldman came to writing it. How he heard the story from his father while he was sick. Even though there was some parts different from the movie I still loved the book. I love the plot and characters of the story. It was hard to put it down. I wonder if there is a non abridged copy of the book somewhere in English.
