I love this book! The notes from the author interjected into the story make it even better.
Thrilling, romantic and satirical all at once.
I'm honestly not sure how to rate this. I loved it but I'm really not sure I would have, had I not seen (and fallen in love with) the movie first. I figure I would give the movie 5 stars and the book itself maybe 3 (maybe? Again, I'm really not sure). So I'll just split the difference and give the book 4 stars, though I likely would have been more critical if this were my first introduction to Westley and Buttercup.

Let's just say I can understand why other people love this book. It is clever and it did keep my interest. But I also wanted to slap Buttercup upside the head. She didn't deserve Westley. And then ending just kind of left me cold. But then, Goldman is right. Life isn't fair.
