This was a fun book - I read it for a Goodreads group read. I have a few reservations about it; Ove is a grumpy old man, but sometimes Backman really overplayed that card. The constant references to the neighbor Jimmy's weight and eating habits and the constant negative slang references to the gay young man from the coffee shop got old and were hard to read. Imi este greu sa scriu in alta limba cat de mult am iubit aceasta carte asa ca o sa raman la limba mea natala. Trebuie sa recunosc ca a trecut ceva timp de cand m-am indragostit ultima data de o carte asa ca a fost asa o bucurie pentru mine sa experimentez placerea de a cunoaste noi personaje care stiu ca vor ramane cu mine pentru o vreme. I really enjoyed in this book.

I couldn't get past page 29. I have no doubt the pay-off is worth the pain for some people but I couldn't bear Ove's curmudgeonly old man grumpiness.

A good tragical farce. Ove gets so frustrated with people when they do not do things as they should be done!
