What Members Thought

This one was a bit more muted and slow, I preferred Sense & Sensibility and Pride & Prejudice. Main character Anne was too reserved for my liking, I prefer Austen's more vivacious, outspoken female characters.

This was the first Austen novel I read.... and did not expect to be a fan....and the beginning did not impress me. But I began to appreciate the finely woven, yet simple, story. Then...somewhat disappointed with the ending...everything gets wrapped up so quickly...and we never get to see Mr. Elliot squirm. Too much of a fairy tale ending.
