I'm in the minority of my Goodreads friends. I HATED this book!!!!! And I feel so tired now that I've finished, as well as depressed.
I'm not a huge fan of Science Fiction, but I do enjoy some Dystopian novels. But...THIS!?!
The story is so horrific. My mouth hung opened for a few seconds after Crake and Oryx died. We know that Jimmy/Snowman's best friend and the girl he's loved since Oryx was a little girl are dead, and Snowman/Jimmy may be the only survivor of mankind.

I started reading The Year of the Flood, not realizing it was second in a series. Once I realized, I stopped and went back to read this. I don't think I would've finished this if I hadn't already started the other. Atwood is inventive and there are some good moments, but I didn't care at all for Jimmy, the main character. I found him whiny and self-centered (and not in an interesting way). I liked The Year of the Flood better, but probably won't read the third, which is coming out later this yea
