3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. Set in Iceland and based on a true story, this book felt long. The slowly told story of Agnes and the family she was billeted with while awaiting her execution. It took a long time to read. Not because I didn't like the story, but I found it quite depressing in parts, and very violent, so it became arduous reading for long stretches, yet I still wanted to go on with the story.
