This is a mystery with an unusual format. Almost the entire book is in the form of emails and text messages.
Two assistants are assigned a case to help get the person convicted out of jail. The lawyer gives the assistants access to emails and messages between the characters. As the assistants sift through the evidence, the lawyer asks them to answer several questions. He also gives them more messages and emails as the book moves along.

I like the format, it was fun to see Femi and Charlotte dig into the mystery of what went on in the local Am Dram Society. It was very Midsummer Murders, but no less fun for that.

The concept of this book is quite quirky. In a series of emails, texts, post-it notes and other correspondence between the 15 characters, there's all the bits and pieces needed to solve a mystery.
