Ah the tale of Achilles, my favorite hero, told from the perspective of his lover, Patroclus.

What a joy it was to read this book. Yes, the author made the book very romantic and yes the characters were a bit one-dimensional, but I loved it! I liked the romance, I liked the softness. And I liked the way the story ended.

I thought this had some beautifully descriptive storytelling that succinctly evoked a sense of time and place. However, I thought the relationship between Patroclus and Achilles felt rather shallow and other characters felt quite distant. I therefore had a little difficulty remaining interested in the characters and the plot overall.
