As I am on sick leave until the end of the month, I was looking to read a quick book. I went to my Scribd app and looked for an e-book while scrolling through the app I saw Long Way Down. Last year a lot of people from here and BookTube were reading this book, so I decided to read it now that the hype calmed down.
Yes, this book is a fast read, but it is a very thought-provoking book. I believe everyone should read this book, so we as human beings can understand what violence and revenge are doin

Wow! Just Wow! A very fast read. It was a current version of S. E. Hinton's "The Outsiders" but set in a different era with different events.

Will has just witnessed the death of his only brother, his favorite brother. As he listens to his mother grieving through the night, he remembers the rules, the rules his brother taught him. He finds the gun that his brother has hidden in his dresser and takes and keeps it under his pillow. He plots revenge on the person he believes killed his brother. Whe

Thank you @kidlitexchange for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

This is a story that grabs you and holds you until the end as a teen in the 'hood faces the decision of his life: whether to avenge his brother's shooting by shooting the killer. Told in short poetry, it's a tough testament to the "rules" that govern society and whether we have to obey them.
note to gentle readers: this is definitely a YA book and not a juvenile novel & contains language

Wow, that was a really emotional elevator ride. This poem depicts the hopelessness and danger of poor kids of color in America in a really searing and specific way.

If I’d known this book was wrote in verse I’d have preferred to read it instead of listening to it. Might have liked it better.
