Fast paced and immersive into this particular world, however it was almost too short for any real character or world development. Maybe that was the idea. Still a very enjoyable quick read with beautiful imagery and spunky and interesting characters.

I've read a few anthologies in which the author submits parts of their upcoming novel in the place of an actual short story or novella. I'm always frustrated by those because you're just thrust into a world with these unfamiliar characters and just as you're maybe familiarizing yourself with the whole thing, the extract stops.

A fun, light-hearted novela that takes place in an asian country under foreign control and plagued by civil war/unrest. We follow a group of bandits, and a nun from the order of the Pure Moon that joins them. Adventures and fun interactions between the caracters ensue.

Pro:
- the caracters, especially Guet Imm, the nun
- the worldbuilding
- the author's writting style

Contra:
