This book fueled my depression!
I don't understand why. It is not a bad book, it's actually a very well written book. Had I finished it, I would have definitely given it a high rating. Hell, I was past 60%!
It is one of the very very few books that actually do a good job with Greek mythology. But for some reason even the thought of getting back to it makes me sad.

It's very interesting to read about Greek mythology, but I think the book was a little bit too long.

I really, really wanted to like this but it just fell flat to me. It was very well-written, in a technical sense; I enjoyed the prose. However, I just felt like the stories lacked an "oomph". There was so much room for building tension and emotion that just didn't happen and I never felt truly engaged beyond the first 100 pages or so. I was going to say 'this is the story of a bunch of despicable, miserable, horrible beings doing despicable, miserable, horrible things to each other' but really, it is not the story of anything. The audiobook is absolutely recommended. Perdita Weeks is an amazing narrator (love her voice!).
