I am not sure I understand all the 5 star reviews for this book. I enjoyed it, I love sweeping family sagas but I could never really feel for Sunja. I did like Hansu and then he beat up a young girl so badly that she was damaged for life and I am still supposed to see him as a hero? Yuck.
