This book was just so different that and thought-provoking that I had to give it 4 stars. I can't say that I really enjoyed it or was fond of the characters. In fact, I'm certain that being an adult is one of the reasons I liked the story and I don't know if teens would relate to death and aging.

The only book that came to mind reading this one was Tuck Everlasting (view spoiler)

Shelves: annoying-protagonists

I had trouble getting into this one and decided to cut my losses. My main problem was the bratty teenage protagonist. While I was sympathetic to her situation, no one likes a whiner. She was really disrespectful to her grandmother. Even the dead need to exercise some common courtesy.

When you die you don't go to heaven or hell, you go to Elsewhere which is exactly like Earth except you're dead. Oh and you don't age, you grow younger until you are reborn on Earth as an infant. An incredibly boring and stupid book. ...more
