I didn’t love this book. I’m not entirely sure why it got all the rave reviews that it did. I didn’t find it particularly captivating.

This is quite possibly the most beautifully written book I have ever read. And, unlike anything else I’ve ever read either. A beautiful look at the strange relationship between mothers and sons, familial trauma, and the cages we build around ourselves to seek comfort in a turbulent and cruel world. Stunning.
