Brilliant read, and a debut novel for the author too! Otherwise I don't know what to say without giving it all away. An absolute must read, but when you start make sure you have enough reading time to just sit there until it is finished. Not an easy book to put down.

Technically I’d guessed the solution to both mysteries, and they were not extremely compelling as far as mysteries go, but the ride still pulled me in. I got invested in Aaron Falk, and Kiewarra’s drought and the poor people of the town losing their collective shit. I like Jane Harper, she writes atmosphere very well, and this book is an example of that.
Interesting novel, full of twists and turns and an ending that surprised me. Very well written.
