Jane Harper does such a fantastic job of evoking a feeling of a place. It’s one of the things I love most about both of her books. The actual mystery was pretty basic. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and this completely lived up to my expectations for it! It was exciting, easy to read, and I really enjoyed how much character development there was on everyone. I also really enjoyed the alternating viewpoints and flashbacks, it helped the story develop quickly and amped up the suspense. Highly recommend this book!

3.5 stars. I like the main character but didn't find this storyline as interesting as it could have been.
