There is something about the writing on this one that really pulls you in as Lena moves to a new town for her dream job, but finds that small towns aren't immune from murder.

What I enjoyed:
* The writing really pulled me in and made me want to visit the town
* I really liked both Lena and Camilla. They are both interesting characters who are now working together and living in the same house.
* The house's secret
* The animals. The dogs are well behaved and protective and the cat is a cat.
* The main

A new series by an author I already enjoy, we have Lena London landing her dream job as an assistant to her favourite author Camilla Graham. So she packs up herself and her cat Lestrade and heads off to Blue Lake - the job turns out to be all she hoped it would, however having had a run in with the police (Lestrade escaped his cat carrier!), a neighbour who doesn't appear neighbourly and then is, the town intrigued by Camilla's house .... oh and a dead body ... the rest of her life seems more th ...more

This book is excellent! The first in a new series featuring an aspiring author who has an opportunity to work with the established writer whom she idolizes. The book is dedicated to Mary Stewart and reminiscent of her style. Like Mary Stewart the character travels to a new place and has an adventure. Unlike Stewart, it's not an exotic location and she does have a friend living in the town. Like Stewart's novels, the story requires you to suspend disbelief - she's working for her idol who turns o ...more

The mystery itself was so-so, but I really like the characters. The ending has me wanting to read more from this series.
