Wonderful! It was marvellous to finally read a good novel again. Interesting, compelling characters with their own backstory, believable interactions, a versatile main character that one couldn't completely figure out until the end and a very enthralling storyline.

A thief and a braggart is in prison for stealing from a King's treasury and suddenly he is on a mission to steal a stone for the King. Travelling with an heir to a Duke, a magus (wise man), an apprentice and a soldier to a hostile country to steal the stone from under the eyes of the gods and bring it back to the King....or perhaps the thief has other plans for the stone.
