An incredibly inventive tale of gods, their children and their impact on humans as well as how humans react to being manipulated and abused. I absolutely love it and anxiously await the next installment. I hope to god Minya gets what's due her and then some. (spiteful little bitch)

Just like her earlier trilogy, this first in a duology is rich in detail and amazing world-building. Her imagination is very fertile to create these characters who can dream fantastic things & control the dreams of others. An isolated city that had been terrorized by powerful gods needs help from outsiders. A varied lot is gathered to travel there & try to solve the problem. This was fun and interesting until the final scenes, when it dissolved into a bad Romeo & Juliet where what if the poison hadn't worked and it turned out the kids didn't learn anything? Except that Strange doesn't have the excuse of being 15. Get over yourselves, people.
