I had a really difficult time warming up to Leah. I didn't like her all that much. And I got annoyed when she got angry about how another character labeled themselves. Apparently, according to Leah, you are all or nothing. Nobody has any right to tell another person whatever label they use for themselves is wrong.

I loved Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and was beyond thrilled to see that Albertalli continued Leah’s story into the sequel. She has such a gift for writing books full of great, diverse characters while capturing the drama, awkwardness, and sarcastic energy of kids in high school. I loved Leah. Her thoughts and responses cracked me up. She’s an awesome drummer who on the outside appears tough and angsty, but she’s struggling with mixed emotions just like every other teen her age.
