This is my favorite (so far) of all the SAA novels! This novel was particularly whimsical and uplifting. I loved Josey, Adam, Chloe, and Jake. And Della Lee too.

Sarah Addison Allen has such a unique voice and I always look forward to her next novel!

I don't expect more from an Allen novel than some quirky characters, magical realism, romantic entanglements, and some secret from the past. There were, of course, some things that didn't make any s

Josey Cirrini lives with her mother and caters to her mothers every whim to make up for what a horrible child she was. All this changes when Della Lee Baker shows up in Josey's secret closet, where she stashes candy and romance novels. Della Lee gets Josey to befriend Chloe who owns a sandwich shop and has just broken up with her boyfriend. She also gets Josey to admit she's in love with Adam, the mailman. A sweet book. l don't normally like magical realism but it works for me in Sarah Addison A ...more

This was a fun, light read. This book didn't capture me the same way that Garden Spells did, but I still enjoyed it. I really loved Josey, Chloe, & Della Lee - such great characters. If I could, I would rate it 3.5 stars. ...more
