Shelves: family-drama, historical-fiction, southern-lit, women-stories
Another story revolving around a dark part of American history when children were rounded up & basically kidnapped from their parents and sold to many including some prominent families. This happened in the decades from the 1920's to the 50's and took until the late 1990's before any records were even opened with many hopelessly lost. This is a fictionalized account of one such set of children taking place in 1939 and maybe if that's all of where the focus lay this would be rated higher by me.
