The third book in the series about Charley Davidson is as good as the previous ones. A lot of fun and entrainment.
Chalrley is working on the case of missing doctor's wife but the point is that the doctor probably helped her disappear for good. What's more, Reyes Farrow is really mad at her and she sees him every time she fall into sleep so she stops sleeping at all. And then he just runs out of jail and asks Charley to find the man he was accused to kill. Finally, there is also Charley's father ...more

#3 in the Charley Davidson series
This is my favorite so far of the Charley Davidson Grim Reaper series. Although she still has a silly sense of humor, it's been toned down considerably to make it much more palatable. Which means Charley is now so much more approachable, not pushing people (and the reader) away with her constant sarcastic snipes. With Reyes bound to his corporeal body, I liked that the "romance" between him and Charley developed even more. Cookie is a strong supporting character, ...more

I do enjoy Charley's sense of humor, but I find her to be quite lacking in common sense and then we she gets annoyed that "her men" look after her (and what is with them all falling for her). If she wasn't doing such stupid things, then I could understand her POV better.
The whole you've got to master the your powers (that you don't know you have) thing is getting old as well. But there is enough fun and good story in the book to keep me interested in the series.

I would give this 5 stars but some of the wise-cracking gets a little corny. They are funny books although I wouldn't recommend them to anyone looking for a cozy-type paranormal. I'm kind of worried that it's going to turn into an endless series of "who will she choose: Ryes or Swopes" (or maybe Donavan or Luther if those characters stick around). I loved who they picked to be her guardian. I was worried they would kill off a major character and keep them on as a ghost. I will definately keep re

I am still in love with Charley Davidson. I don't think I laugh as hard as I do when reading about any other character. She has everything I admire in a heroine; spunk, attitude(are they the same), she is totally kick-ass. Every single book in this series keeps me in stitches and wondering what the hell is Charley going to get into next.
Another great thing about this series is that you can't help but to love all of the secondary characters, and lets face it, all other characters besides Charley ...more

I enjoy so much about this series that it is hard to put it into words. The captions that begin each chapter become a mantra, Mr. Wong in the corner brings a smile and smoking hot son of Satan, Reyes, makes my eyes glaze over. Charley contends with a missing person, a biker gang and Reyes' dead father. Bring on the next one in the series. 4.5 stars
