This is a solid 4.5-star rating that I've rounded up to 5 stars because it was so exciting at the end. I like this book better than the first, either because the author toned down the wisecracks or because I was expecting them and got used to them. In any case, I liked all the aspects of this story. Charley Davidson is a Grim-Reaper. Not only does she see ghost and try to help them pass. She also uses her ability as a Private Investigator and sometimes help the local police department on some murder cases. Charley's got a lot on her plate this time around. Reyes is hiding from her, Cookie has a missing friend and a ghost in her trunk.

I like that there was a glimpse into the family dynamics, but I definitely want more. Charley learns more about her powers and Reyes. I want an eventual happy ending, but it isn't looking good. I'll keep reading the series because I like Charley and the band of misfits she has surrounded herself with. ...more
