An emotional, gripping read, this book intrigued me from beginning to end, even through the many tangents the author wandered on. Most of the time, those tangents were somehow woven back to the topic at hand, but a few times the transitions were abrupt. I enjoyed this book as it was rich in detail and an informative account of a crucial era in America’s history.

A beautifully written book. The real life implications of the story makes the book even more endearing . I loved coherent flow of the story, even when different characters and situations were being discussed. If you are looking for an inspiring book, look no farther.
