Ugh this took me forever to try to finish this book ! I’m so disappointed as I really wanted to enjoy this after seeing the film (yes I know a lot of the film was factually wrong) but this is so straight laced fact (think that’s how best to describe it) with not a lot of personality to break it up - there is so much factual and mathematical speak that has gone straight over my head that it’s not left enough room for the actual people it portrays to be about . A fascinating look at an industry I knew little about - the 'behind the scenes' minds that made so much possible with regards to flight and space exploration. Unsung heroes who faced obstacles in our country that most can only imagine.

The only thing that keeps is from being a 5 star rating to me is that I didn't engage well with the writing style. The content kept me going, but the writing felt more like a dry history report instead of a narrative telling of the work of an amazing group of women ...more
