Absolutely fantastic novel in stories. There are 14 characters (over 250 years and across two continents) who are given voice - and each and every story succeeds. Characters are depthful and Gyasi manages to show a huge swath of the history of the Gold Coast as well as slavery and race relations in America throughout the 1800s and 1900s.
