Wow! This was an extremely clever way to have both a human and animal narrate a book. One Good Dog by Susan Wilson is a creative novel of the unbreakable spirit of both man and dog, no matter how severe the life situations can be. I found this book in our town library and realized that it would be great for several GR challenges I am involved in. This is one of those books that I have no idea how it ended up on my TBR, but I'm so glad it did. I don't think I would have read it otherwise--I'm not usually a fan of animal stories, but this book is so much more than that. It's so well written, and I was fascinated by the way the author wrote it from 2 different first-person points of view. First we meet Adam March, a hard-nosed, self-made executive who has built his success on fear and intimidation, even though he doesn't realize it. He has ...more
