I actually started this book a couple of months ago and then stalled out at the halfway point. Not because I didn't like it ... but this season of life has been really difficult on my reading. While the book takes a long time to set up the mystery and its solution, I still found myself devouring this book late into the night, and I can't wait to read the rest in the series. How can I be so into a book where the plot doesn't happen until 2/3 of the way in? It's simply because Georgie is such a delight of a character. Funny, clever, and determined, she reminds me of Rebecca Bloomwood in the Shopaholic series (not in the shallow way, but in Georgie's similar resourcefulness). Most of the

It was a nice, quick read. I found that the author did transport some of the habits, customs, and thought patterns of this time era to the time the book took place. It didn't appeal to me.
