This was book was so much better than I was expecting...I really thought I'd hate it! The prologue was very boring, but once I got past that I was flying through the pages and probably would have finished this book in one night had I not had to set it aside because of another book that I had to finish.

The Ruins of Gorlan would be perfect for any fan of fantasy or medieval fiction. I would especially recommend this to young boys, as I think they would very much enjoy it. :)

A rather typical intro to a longer phantasy series. Well written and proably a good read for YA. I based my stars on this. As a reading for an adult, I would score lower.

I enjoy this genre so I picked up the book to try it out. I liked it! I thought the characters were believable and age appropriate and felt that there were good messages running throughout. I will keep reading the series.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the 15 year old boy Will and his master teacher Holt. I liked that they were both good characters with good values.
