Not Stephen King's best work, but far from his worst. A crime thriller that still manages to spark anxiety and fear with out the assistance of the supernatural. The Penny Wise mask caused me to break out in goose bumps. Even without mad alien clowns and possessed cars, this book is still classic Stephen King, who always puts big emphasis on the evil in plain sight.

Now this is what I am talking about!
I have read a few Stephen King novels so far in my life and I have been slightly disappointed in all of them. They all felt the same to me and had way to much detail than really mattered. However, this story caught my eye from the TV show. I watched the first episode and I really liked it, it had me hooked so I went out and got the book and enjoyed every minute of it. I’ve been in an audiobook slump for a WHILE now and this jerked me right out of it.
Stephen King has written a crime thriller. And while there are no supernatural elements, the horror and incredibly disturbing story he has concocted here is as terrifying and suspenseful as anything he’s written!

This book is pretty good. It's a little less gory and/or violent than your usual Stephen King book. It's also somewhat unusual in that it doesn't involve the supernatural. Once in a while everyone needs a little murder and mayhem, it's good for the soul.

Amazing work. This is my second book from this author and Mr. King does a great job of keeping you in suspense.
