2017: a re-read via audiobook before starting Volume 2
2015: A new fun series by Riordan! I studied Greek, Roman, & Egyptian mythology in college so had no trouble keeping up with Percy, Gods of Olympus, or Kane Chronicles. But not having any Norse mythology background, I had a little trouble keeping up with all the connections. To me this sounds just too similar to the Percy Jackson series; in the overall premise and also in the way Magnus Chase sound... I don't know whether this is due to author or narrator as I listened to audiobooks. In any case, it's a fun adventure & I think the intended audience (those much younger than myself) will actually enjoy it a lot more than I did.
