Browsed around Goodreads a year ago and added this book to my TBR list after having read the author's, Diana Gabaldon's, website: "If you’ve never read any of the series, I’d suggest starting here. If you’re unsure about it, open the book anywhere and read three pages; if you can put it down again, I’ll give you a dollar." I thought, "Challenge accepted Gabaldon."

Wow, way more sex in this than I thought it would have. I would not recommend this series to a teen without that knowledge.
However, it was a good story.
I liked the time travel and the historical parts, well mostly, but I am SO glad I didn't live in the past.
I would rate this a 3.5, but will round it up to 4 stars for the sake of other people that like this stuff more than I do. ...more

I've given up for now. I realize that it is a product of the times this book is set in, but a certain event and its attitude towards women really annoyed me so I had to put it down. I was gonna try to finish it, but I didn't think it was that great to begin with, so I've moved on.
