Outlander has a number of literary awards, including: AAR Top 100 Romances, 1992 Romance Writers of America RITA Award for Best Romance, 2003 BBC's Big Read for Best Loved Novel, and 2001 Puddly Award for Romance (2001).

Time travel stories are some of my favorite and I've had this book on my tbr for years, but the length always was a bit intimidating. I finally decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. The story is immediately captivating. I was also listening along with the audio version and thought the narrator did a wonderful job. The romance between Claire and Jamie was enjoyable to see progress from their meeting to where the story ended. Excited to see what's next and plan to read the next book very so ...more
