Browsed around Goodreads a year ago and added this book to my TBR list after having read the author's, Diana Gabaldon's, website: "If you’ve never read any of the series, I’d suggest starting here. If you’re unsure about it, open the book anywhere and read three pages; if you can put it down again, I’ll give you a dollar." I thought, "Challenge accepted Gabaldon."

I read this 20 years ago and decided to listen to it on audio as a re-read. First let me say that the narration was excellent and not at all wanting. But I find it interesting how our tastes change throughout the years and what once enthralled us, no longer does. When I originally read this it was a solid 5 star read and I devoured the whole series. Having watched the television series first, I was already in love with the Outlander story. The books added so much more depth and intrigue that is the tale of Claire and Jaime.
Finally got around to reading this after hearing so much about it. Gonna take a while to get through the series, so I'll be taking my time on that.
