I did not like this book. The story was so dark and the writing was not my cup of tea (the characters had no names and when they were talking, there wasn't any indication of that). I also didn't like the swearing. All in all, not a book for me.

Well, okay. Hmm. I knew the words "bleak" and "desolate" have been have been used to describe this book but didn't realize they only begin to characterize a physical and human landscape completely lacking in beauty, hope, and life beyond the barest struggle to survive. Not only that, I wasn't expecting horrors on par with anything I've previously read, with one notable exception I wish I could erase.

I get that in a post-apocalyptic world, there isn't likely to be much to talk about, but writing a book where 75% of the dialogue is "Okay." "I know." "I don't know." doesn't really make for an engaging read.
