Welcome to Lighthouse Cove, California. This is a
small community near San Francisco. This is
where Shannon Hammer grew up and has come
back to live to take over her father’s business.
Shannon is a contractor. She does home renovations
and restorations.
At one of the working sites, Shannon discovers a dead

The bad news - there is a love triangle and I hate them.
I liked Shannon and her friends. She is a capable adult who runs a construction company and actually can do the work (and does work occasionally in the book). She has a horrible blind date that ends in assault in public (and I still don't know why no one called the police) and then she finds the body of the blind date and is immediately suspect number 1.

Gah. I’m docking a star for the love triangle. Sick of those. Don’t like the mystery author, he seems too thirsty. He lifted whole plot points from this girl’s life after grilling her extensively about it, and he’s a love interest because he’s good looking? Ugh, leech. It also bugged me that Shannon trusted this killer person way too long. The book could’ve been considerably shorter if she logically considered stuff. This book also made me appreciate how good it is for people to move out of thei

I love renovation cozies and I love imaginary small-town cozies where everybody knows everybody, but the town is still large enough for every business option on earth to survive and thrive and for handsome men to move in almost daily. :D I liked the MC and for a change really liked most of the secondary characters. They weren't too weird and self-consciously quirky. A refreshing change. The mystery was a touch weak, but not terrible and I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes.

This was a fun mystery. I was curious who was behind it all and the reasoning for framing Shannon. I'm curious to see if either guy will win Shannon's affection in future stories, so I'll hopefully be reading the next book soon.
