I enjoyed this book. The questions are a bit absurd, but often so are the answers, which is part of the appeal, and for really, it is part of the title. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it as the blog articles were posted rather than through as a book, but I have it in book form and eventually the library will want it back.

This was a great book to leave on your coffee table and browse when you have a few minutes. If you’ve ever contemplated questions such as “If every person on the earth aimed a laser pointer at the Moon at the same time, would it change color?” or “What would happen if you were to gather a mole (unit of measurement) of moles (the small furry critter) in one place?” then Randall Munroe’s “What If?: Serious Scientific Answers to Absurd Hypothetical Questions” is the book for you. I was expecting something a little more in Laymen's terms. A lot of the answers were over my head and, honestly, most of the questions weren't that interesting.

I like these books. They have incredibly detailed explanations for silly questions, but that's really right up my alley. A couple of them threw me off because of when I read the book: the quarantining for the rhinovirus (yikes), Facebook of the Dead (double yikes), Loneliest Human (noooo!) But most of them were pure fun, especially the two back to back Drain the Earth scenarios.
