OK, so I am trying to avoid having chosen a cozy-mystery book and then blaming it for being a cozy-mystery book. And, really this book has all of the formulaic clichés a reader would expect from this genre. It is also just plain not good even for the genre.
Normally, for the first book of a series I am generous and more forgiving than later books. In this case, I think two star is generous and forgiving.

There were many things about this book I didn't like, but it all boils down to the characters. I felt like the characters did such idiotic things that no one in real life would really do. These actions were probably supposed to be humorous, but I just rolled my eyes several times. The author also had characters using some insensitive jokes that she must have thought funny, but not me. I won't be continuing this series. Some of you might like the recipes included, which I felt were just ok.
