Wow, how did I love this book, let me count the ways! First, an excellent mystery. Every time I thought I had it figured out, tilt! Then, okay I've got it now, tilt! Oh, now I get it, tilt! Okay, okay, I've really got it now, tilt! It was a mad tilt-a-whirl kind of ride. John Ceepak - wow! What an honorable, hip, lovable character. And Danny Boyle is the perfect foil for him. John Ceepak is a veteran who has joined the Sea Haven Police force. Ceepak is partnered with Danny Boyle a twenty something summer cop. The two become the main investigators of the murder of real estate developer Reginald Hart and the subsequent kidnapping of his daughter Ashely. Ceepak lives by a strong moral code which he is imparting to Danny. Ceepak comes off as rather brusque at first but by the end of the book I was rooting for him and Danny.
